This special KLM miniature depicts the Royal Palace Amsterdam and is produced especially for Flying Blue members who achieve Platinum for Life status.

Platinum for Life

Platinum for Life is a special status within the Flying Blue programme. KLM commissioned a dedicated version of the Royal Palace Amsterdam for new Platinum for Life members. This edition was first presented from 2022 onwards to members who had achieved this status.

The reverse of the miniature carries the words Platinum for Life and Royal Palace Amsterdam, together with the crowned KLM logo. These markings distinguish this version from other KLM editions of the Royal Palace.

The Royal Palace Amsterdam

The Royal Palace is situated on Dam Square in the historic centre of Amsterdam. The building was originally constructed in the seventeenth century as Amsterdam’s city hall and was considered one of the city’s most important buildings.

It later became a royal palace and is still used by the Dutch Royal Family for official receptions, state visits, award ceremonies and other important occasions.

A special KLM edition

The Platinum for Life Palace is not part of the regular numbered series of KLM houses. It is a special edition that was distributed only to a limited group of Flying Blue members.

Its limited distribution, distinctive Platinum for Life markings and connection with a prestigious long-term Flying Blue status make this miniature particularly interesting to collectors of KLM specials and rare Delft Blue miniatures.
