Delivery & Shipping

We ship KLM Delft Blue houses safely to collectors in the Netherlands, throughout Europe and worldwide.

All orders are very carefully packed, shipped with Track & Trace and insured during transport. KLM houses are fragile ceramic collectibles, so we take extra care when checking, protecting and packing every order.

Depending on the destination and shipping option, we use PostNL, DPD, GLS, FedEx or DHL.

Shipping costs

Shipping costs depend on the destination, parcel weight, dimensions and selected carrier. The tables below show our standard shipping rates.

The exact shipping price for your order is always shown during checkout before payment. For unusually large or heavy orders, complete collections or shipments requiring special handling, we may contact you to arrange the most suitable shipping method.

Shipping availability can vary by destination. The available shipping methods and final shipping price shown during checkout are leading.

United Kingdom

For shipping to the United Kingdom, you can choose between PostNL and FedEx. For parcels up to 10 kg, PostNL is the more economical option, while FedEx is generally faster. For heavier parcels, FedEx is the more economical option.

United States

For shipping to the United States, you can choose between PostNL and FedEx. PostNL is the more economical option for most standard orders, while FedEx is generally faster.

For parcels up to 5 kg, PostNL is €10.00 cheaper than FedEx. Please note that the FedEx rate increases substantially for parcels above 5 kg. The price shown during checkout is always leading.

Canada

For shipping to Canada, you can also choose between PostNL and FedEx.

For parcels up to 5 kg, PostNL is €10.00 cheaper than FedEx. Please note that the FedEx rate increases substantially for parcels above 5 kg.

Worldwide shipping

We ship to most countries worldwide. For destinations outside Europe we mainly use PostNL and FedEx, supplemented by GLS or DHL where this provides a suitable shipping option.

Some destinations have different rates due to local carrier costs, customs requirements or remote-area surcharges. Shipping availability can also change. The exact available shipping options and price are always shown during checkout.

When will my order be shipped?

Orders are normally prepared and dispatched within 5 working days after payment has been received.

Before shipment, every order is checked and very carefully packed. Complete collections, unusually large orders or special shipping requests may occasionally require additional preparation time.

Please note that our processing time and the carrier's transit time are separate. The estimated delivery time starts after your parcel has been handed over to the carrier.

Estimated delivery times

Delivery times are estimates and are not guaranteed. Customs clearance, local holidays, extreme weather, peak periods and carrier delays can extend the transit time.

Which carrier will be used?

We work with several shipping companies:

• PostNL – mainly for the Netherlands, Europe and as an economical shipping option for the United Kingdom, United States and Canada.
• DPD – primarily used for shipments to France.
• GLS – used for selected European and international shipments.
• FedEx – fast international shipping, particularly to the United Kingdom, United States, Canada and other overseas destinations.
• DHL – used for selected European and international shipments.

Where more than one shipping option is available, you can choose your preferred service during checkout.

Very careful packaging

KLM Delft Blue houses are fragile ceramic collectibles. Packaging is therefore an important part of every shipment.

Each order is very carefully and securely packed using suitable protective packaging materials. The houses are packed to minimise movement inside the parcel, and additional protection is added where necessary.

Large orders, complete collections and valuable special editions receive additional protection appropriate to the size and nature of the shipment.

Insured shipping

All orders are shipped insured. We do not send KLM houses as uninsured parcels.

In the unlikely event that a parcel is lost or arrives damaged during transport, please contact us as soon as possible.

If a parcel arrives damaged, please keep the parcel, all packaging materials and the damaged item. We also recommend taking clear photographs of:

• the outside of the parcel;
• the shipping label;
• the internal packaging;
• the damaged KLM house or other item.

This information may be required when we submit a claim to the carrier.

Track & Trace

All shipments include Track & Trace. After your order has been dispatched, you will receive tracking information so that you can follow your parcel during transport.

Please note that it can sometimes take several hours after receiving the shipping confirmation before the first tracking scan becomes visible.

Shipping KLM houses containing alcohol

Many KLM Delft Blue houses originally contain genever. Regulations regarding the international transport and import of alcohol vary by country.

If you would like your KLM houses to be shipped without alcohol, please contact us. Where required or requested, we can remove the alcoholic contents and clean the KLM house before shipment.

This can make it possible to ship the miniature to destinations where transporting or importing alcohol may otherwise cause problems. Removing the contents may require us to open or remove the original seal. This cannot be reversed, so please contact us before shipment if preserving the original seal is important to you.

Where possible, the original cork and seal remain with the miniature.

Customs, import duties and taxes

Shipments within the European Union normally do not require import customs clearance.

Orders sent outside the European Union may be subject to customs clearance, import duties, local taxes or other charges imposed by the destination country.

Depending on the destination and shipping method, these charges may either be collected during checkout or charged separately by the carrier or local customs authority.

Unless checkout explicitly states that duties and taxes are included, any import duties, taxes or customs charges are the responsibility of the recipient.

Customs procedures may also increase the delivery time. Unfortunately, we cannot control how long a parcel is held by local customs authorities.

Large orders and complete collections

Complete sets and large collections require additional protective packaging and may exceed standard parcel weights or dimensions.

For these orders we may use a different carrier, divide the order between several insured parcels or contact you to arrange the safest and most practical shipping method.

Please contact us before ordering so we can arrange a suitable time for collection. When collecting your order, you can pay on site by debit card, credit card or cash.

Returns

You have a 14-day withdrawal period after receiving your order in which to notify us that you wish to return it. Please contact us first or email info@klm-huisjes.nl so we can provide you with the correct return instructions.

After notifying us that you wish to exercise your right of withdrawal, the order must be returned within 14 days.

KLM houses must be carefully packed for the return shipment. We recommend using the original packaging wherever possible, as the ceramic miniatures are fragile.

The direct cost of returning the order is borne by the customer, unless the item arrived damaged, incorrect or faulty.

For a full withdrawal of the order, we will refund the purchase price and the cost of our least expensive standard delivery method. Any additional costs resulting from your choice of a more expensive delivery method will not be refunded.

We may withhold the refund until we have received the returned goods or until you provide evidence that the goods have been sent back.

Check your delivery address

Please check your shipping address carefully before completing your order.

If you notice an error after placing your order, please contact us as soon as possible. Once a parcel has been handed over to the carrier, it may no longer be possible to change the delivery address.

Delayed shipment?

Most parcels arrive within the estimated transit time, but occasional delays can occur.

If your tracking information has not changed for an unusually long period or the parcel has not arrived within a reasonable time after the expected delivery date, please contact us.

Because every shipment is tracked and insured, we can contact the carrier and start an investigation where necessary.
