KLM Miniature 106 – Villa Rameau (Leiden)

On 7 October 2025, KLM celebrated its 106th anniversary with the unveiling of Villa Rameau as the newest Delft Blue miniature. This charming building—once the sexton’s house of the Pieterskerk—stands in the heart of Leiden, directly beside the Pieterskerk (Kloksteeg 16/16a) in the historic Pilgrims’ Quarter, and took its present form between 1645 and 1648. The house was chosen for its historical ties to the Pilgrims and the centuries-long connection between the Netherlands and the United States—the very “connection” KLM celebrates each year with its collection.

Why this house is special
Authentic Leiden monument: right next to the medieval Pieterskerk; originally the sexton’s residence.

This refined Delft Blue miniature captures the elegant 17th-century façade of Villa Rameau, with its classical proportions and calm, symmetrical composition. The rich details—from the window layout to the roofline—are crisply translated into the distinctive KLM miniature format, allowing the house to pair beautifully with earlier Leiden and Dutch icons in your collection. A must-have for collectors who appreciate history, craftsmanship, and KLM’s story of connection.
